The Baby Diaper Drive Story

The Baby Diaper Drive was founded by Eileen Rogers, President of Scottsdale’s Allegra Print & Imaging eleven years ago. Eileen became a Board Member at Homeward Bound and learned of the difficulties facing these Moms. She did not know that diapers, wipes, formula and other baby products couldn’t be purchased with food stamps. She learned that these working Mom’s were going without food so they could purchase these items for their babies. When she asked the Executive Director how she could help during the holiday season (other than collecting toys), Dr. Martin said, “Help our Babies!” And so Eileen began her work telling the story of Homeward Bound and asking people to help her “One Dollar, One Diaper, One Person at a Time” to make a difference.

A special note from Eileen Rogers, Drive Founder

For 11 years, our community has come together, one person at a time to support the efforts of the Annual Baby Diaper Drive. As a community and working side by side, we have collected 536,195 diapers, 355,120 baby wipes and raised $359,515 in Emergency Funds! On behalf of the Mom’s and babies at Homeward Bound, THANK YOU for your tremendous work and commitment to the drive’s success.

Each person who contributed made a positive impact and provided a "hand up" in a time of need. By working together we created "families of volunteers," who helped the families with children at Homeward Bound – “One Diaper, One Dollar, One Person at a Time”. If you have helped us in the past, thank you for being that person! Join us for our 11th year!

The Purpose and Mission of the Drive

To provide diapers, wipes & formula to meet the emergency needs of Homeward Bound babies. These items are very expensive & food stamps do not cover the costs of non food items.

To provide an "Emergency Fund" for Homeward Bound case managers to help in unexpected circumstances where there is no other money available, such as hearing aids, glasses, car seats, childcare, etc...

To encourage a grassroots opportunity that lets individuals, families and organizations share in the spirit of giving & fundraising while encouraging & teaching others to do the same.

To create awareness and other connections in the community that enables Homeward Bound to help families with children.

The Results of our Community Diaper Drive

For ten years, ordinary people have come together and participated in the Baby Diaper Drive. As a community, we have shared in the spirit of giving and fundraising while encouraging others to do the same. One Diaper, One Dollar, One Person at a Time!
